Dengue Fever Symptoms

Dengue fever has increased rapidly. Dengue fever is known as an infectious disease. This disease is caused by the dengue virus or in simple words this infection is transmitted through the bite of a mosquito. The symptoms of dengue fever appear with headache, fever, skin rash with a severe pain in muscles and joints. The virus transmitted through mosquito bite normally takes 3 to 15 days for its incubation period before it actually appears.

Gradually the signs and symptoms of dengue virus starts with fever, shivering in the body, severe headache and pain in moving eyes as well as it also hits the lower back area causing a pain there with redness and rashes on the skin. These symptoms last for three or four days usually it is followed by a sudden drop in body temperature with heavy sweating.

The patient should be given plenty of rest along with fluids to minimize the risk of dehydration. Do not give any medicines without consulting the doctor because this can worsen the situation. But for treating the severe aches that occur in various parts of body like muscles and joints one should be treated with regular painkillers such as Tylenol and should avoid Aspirins because it increases the risk of acute bleeding but some doctors prescribe Aspirins. So it is very necessary to consult a doctor before taking any medicine. Last but not the least, bed rest and intake of plenty of fluids help in quick recovery.
